Reporting Deviations Based On The Surface

I am trying to figure out how to report a point deviation based on the surface and not the axis. In PC-DMIS this is the T value. I don't see anything like that in Calypso. What I have is a surface that is on the negative X side of a block with a nominal X value of zero. When I report a surface point value, if the surface is plus material it reports a negative value since the surface is to the negative side of X zero. Likewise, if the surface is minus material it reports a plus value. I would like to report a plus value for plus material and negative value for minus material. I hope that description wasn't too long winded and confusing. Any help would be appreciated.

I create alignments where I rotate one axis to always be in the direction of the value I want.
Ive been doing this for so long im quite proficient at it.

If you are measuring a plane with multiple points, try using Profile with Two Results Bilateral (might not be the exact name). This will tell you the high point and low point of the surface. Positive numbers are extra material, negative numbers are less material (from nominal).

If you are just taking a point, I would use a surface point and select surface point distance. Positive and negative values will tell you the same thing as profile with two results bilateral.
