[Br...]
I downloaded the latest service pack recently with our O-Inspect and suddenly my AutoFocus seems to be having a hard time. In some cases its way off. It just isn't picking the sharpest point. I went back to the last service pack and it didn't fix it. I reran my tactile-optical offset program and still no dice. Has anyone else had an issue like this before?
[No...]
Which Calypso version are we talking about? 2018? Because 2018 got new image processing routines with SP 6.6.12. So if it's 2018, do you mean SP 6.6.12 or SP 6.6.16?
[Br...]
I installed 2018 6.6.16. That's when I noticed the problem. It could be unrelated. I know SP 6.6.12 got rid of the "Fast/medium/Exact" options. It does look like when it autofocus's poorly, It generally is moving pretty fast, then sometimes it slows down and does a better job. [No...]
I don't have much experience with the new image processing yet. One severe problem I noticed was that on a part similar to a gear, where I measure the OD with single points in a circular pattern, the Z position makes weird up and down jumps while it travels around the part, so every second or third point is way out of focus. This is not really autofocus however, only Z positioning based on a previous autofocus. With the old imaging routines a common problem was that when focusing on an edge and the focus found two sharp areas while moving up and down the focus failed completely.
