Hello guys
Anyone observe this phenomenon
1)in calypso how much depth will consider as cylinder.
2) actually I have 1.8mm thickness plate in that I want create a cylinder in ID. but it's not measured still it's shows circle(taking min.8 points).then I am convert as cylinder.
3) if we convert as cylinder is there any inaccuracy will happen?
4) so what is the standard/min. depth for cylinder in calypso.

If it's only 1.8mm thick, I wouldn't use anything larger than a 0.5mm stylus.
Try "Cylinder from lines" inside the feature strategy instead of circle paths.
Use a min of 8 lines.

if you don't have a cad model and you're manually probing points, keep probing.
Don't stop at 8, keep going.
Sooner or later calypso is bound to catch on to what your asking for.
1.8mm should be plenty of depth.

Actually, inherent to any CMM software, there is something called "Short Unstable Datum's and Features".
At 1.8mm (.0709) the "A1" and "A2" values could cause projection errors.
It is highly unlikely that the thru hole is out of perpendicular but could report as slightly to out of tolerance for perpendicularity, in particular when projecting to a surface much farther away.

You can also take 2 circles, 1 at top & 1 at the bottom. Select cylinder from the feature menu. Open it & click on "options" & choose "recall feature points" select the 2 circles & it creates a theoretical Cylinder. I use this a lot for constructing cylinders on bores that are real shallow.

Always plug the nominal dimensions into the dialogue box before measuring. Tell it this is a 1.8mm long (deep?) cylinder, than select your strategy, them measure.
