[Ro...]
So im having to make some customer required changes to my header (adding a stupid signature box) and i thought id take the time to "Freshen" the rest of it up and get more inline with the PCD headers we use. The one thing they do that i cant figure out is how do is add a machine Name, being a name that i choose. say "Zeiss1" in anticipation that soon we will have a machine called "Zeiss2". There is a box called "CMM No." with an aspect "dmsen", that gives me an output of "00000". There is a box called "Name" with an aspect "vda name" which just outputs the login name. There is a box called "No" with an aspect "vda number" and i don't know what that output is, but its giving me an "11". How are you guys naming your machines and keeping everything sorted out? I really don't want to just use a text box, because header files get shared amongst online & offline machines, and in the future between machines. so im looking for something more permanent that won't easily become corrupted by something like a software update. [Te...]
If you are using PiWeb you can just create a text box and type it into the Header. You could make a variable to select at start of run. See if the attached helps.Customizing PiWeb Header.pdf

[Wa...]
I use the header variable "Device Group" on our custom reports. I had to change the name of every CMM to something of significance. The "Device Group" is the name of the machine tab currently in use. A word of caution. If you do rename a machine tab, do not close Calypso before making a connection again. Backing up your config folder is also something you should do before making changes like this.
