Model display bug on current 6.6 patch

I'm encountering a strange bug regarding CAD model display in 6.6.1209. We use multiple models within the same programs, e.g. the mill fixture for the part, to help with point placement in offline programming. Normally we keep these hidden in the CAD hierarchy to cut down on clutter and make programming easier, as they're not needed most of the time. At some point within the last few patches, these hidden models have started appearing spontaneously when using the CAD>Creating Features menu, or when going to the hierarchy list.
They stay visible, sometimes in wireframe, sometimes shaded, until I go back to the hierarchy and toggle them on and off.

My coworker who is experiencing the same problem tells me that it started with the most recent update, which would have been from patch 1208 to patch 1209. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a known solution or workaround? I don't have the installer for 1208 anymore, and anyway I don't know if patches can be downgraded.

From what I've been told, you should only be installing patches upon instruction. I've been told by Zeiss application engineers that patches should only be installed for particular applications. Perhaps, your configuration is not meant to work with that patch?

Unless I've been specifically instructed I only install the base software + any subsequent service packs only.

I just looked through the release notes and found this. I would call the hotline.

NOTE
Patches contain urgent corrections to recently reported bugs and are
subsequently deployed after undergoing minimum testing. If your system is affected, we recommend installing the patch. Alternatively, the
next service pack will also contain the appropriate bugfixes. Service
packs are subjected to full testing before release. For detailed information regarding current patch versions please contact our support team.

That explains why there are never any patch notes for them. If that's the case, I think I'd rather just roll back to the base service pack, as we don't do anything out of the ordinary with our equipment.

Update: I got all the patches removed. Created a new program using 6.6.12 and the same CAD files as before. I can toggle off visibility for the files I don't need to see, but once I go back to the hierarchy menu, and click on the group Calypso seems to be automatically generating for my files, it toggles everything back on again. Sometimes they appear shaded, sometimes as wireframe.

More experimentation reveals more weirdness. I went and deleted all the entity groups, which empties the hierarchy list until I close and re-open that window, at which point all the CAD entities are present and ungrouped. When they're ungrouped, they stay hidden as they're supposed to. If an entity was visible as a wireframe model, without shading, when I delete these groups, then it forever remains as a wireframe. I can toggle its visibility just fine, but I can't bring back the shading for that entity, nor can I extract any features from it.
