[Me...]
Anybody run into this? I made an auto qualify program and on one system the Z+ axis travels out of bounds. It's not even a particularly long probe in Z in fact I have 3 that are at least twice as long.
[Me...]
Are you doing the auto qualifying probe inside of a actual part's program or you are making a program just to qualifying the probe itself? If in the first case, the probe is going to travel from the actual part's clearance plane, if in the second case, you do not need to set clearance planes, just leave them to be zero. One more thing you might want to try: you can set up travel path before qualifying (how the rube comes to the reference sphere) and after qualifying (get away from the reference sphere) after Calypso version 5.4. [Me...]
Yaowen, it's strictly a qualification program. It only does it on one stylus system, if i set a path i think it would be fore the whole program, which wouldn't work too well.
[Me...]
Please sign in to view this quote. 1) check the clearance plane for your program, it should be all zero 2) the manual path setting it goes by every single stylus on a stylus system, please see the picture attached
[Ow...]
I don't believe this would have any effect but, Other than the manual paths option, make sure the the short travel during qualification box is checked under Extras, Settings, CMM, Movement. [Ri...]
The reference sphere has its own Clearance Cube programmed into it. Go into Reference Sphere Management, and make sure its Clearance Distance isn't see too high.
[Me...]
Thanks all, I will try these out Monday. I didn't build this stylus, it came in with the CMM along with a couple of programs. I'm starting to suspect they may have had a "down tip" (1) when it was originally built, it only has a (2) on it now. If your suggestions don't work I think I will delete the system and redo it. [Me...]
Update on this: I tried the solutions offered here and had no luck so I put in a ticket with Zeiss. What i didn't mention here, because i didn't think it was relevant, is that the stylus is 400mm long in Y. I didn't think it mattered because it is on a Vast XTR sensor and cannot rotate down. turns out it's a "bug" that was easily remedied with a "Rotate / Swivel Position".
