[Br...]
I posted this in more detail over in the Hardware/Systems section. But was wondering if there is any way this might be a problem with the Calypso software. When probing in the X+ (right) direction the probe would make contact then back off in the opposite direction without recording a point. If I would touch the head to get it going back in the correct direction it would then touch and record a point as it should. This also happens when scanning a circle. The scan points are not perpendicular to the side wall. See attached photo. Has anyone see this before?000-Point 5mm.JPG
[Am...]
Have you qualified the probe recently? Does this happen on everything and does it have those anomalies in the same locations?
[Br...]
I qualified all my probes last Monday morning (2019-03-11). Everything was fine until Thursday when I started noticing a problem. It is happening in all the programs I was running so I made a new program using a ring gauge. These are the results I got. These two scans were both done with the same 1mm probe ran a couple minutes apart. Also I'm not sure I can requalify now because the same thing happens. I tried redoing the .5mm star probe but whenever it was probing in the X+ or even 45deg from that the probe would back away afrer making contact.000-1mm_02.JPG000-1mm.JPG
[Me...]
If you have a contract with Zeiss call them. I had a similar issue a few years back. They logged into my computer and diagnosed the issue.
[Br...]
We never buy any service contracts so I'm guessing we'll have to have a service call.
[Me...]
HaHa. It looks like the glue holding the ruby on the stylus is failing. I had the same issue but got lucky, when i re qualified the probe the ball failed and fell off.
