[Ke...]
Is it possible to do a profile of an 18 inch edge with several radii and straight surfaces without the curve software?
[An...]
Complex, but should still be possible! A CAD model would be an advantage
[Ke...]
I have the CAD. Just not sure of how to do it. I am off to class next week and hopefully will help.
[Br...]
You can use the general surface feature, but you wont be able to scan. You can only take single points.
[Me...]
Space points work well if you don't have curve.
[Ke...]
So if I use space point along the surface do I then connect them and use the profile feature in Calypso?
[Me...]
The simplest way is to create an alignment that matches your DRF, put the Space Points in that alignment, and report the PtDist of each point. You may need to use a Best Fit alignment if the part has unconstrained DOF. You won't get mobility from any material boundaries on the datums. You can also Best Fit all the points in an alignment and use that if there are no datums, build features from them, etc.
