[Cl...]
We have a VAST XT Gold head that has dropped the stylus system while the program is running. It's been running w/out issue for years. Has anyone experienced this before? Contura G2
[Ow...]
Nope, never. I'm assuming the probing system isn't over the 800 grams (1.763 lbs) weight limit.
[Cl...]
I believe it's just under 500 grams. I spoke with Zeiss about this, and they suggested cleaning the adapter plate, and where it connects to the head. We did, and so far it's behaving fine. [Ri...]
I had this same exact issues a few years ago. The operator kept saying that the CMM was just randomly dropping the stylus system when running a part. Come-to-find-out that it was actually crashing and knocking the stylus system off. Lol. [Ow...]
Cleaning the adapter plate is one thing but, in another post you said it error out after it dropped the probe off, making me think it was head related but, I guess if it didn't grab hold correctly of the plate originally, it could have not made the connection to the adapter plate to begin with? Regarding Richards comment, oh yeah, I've seen them knocked off before.
[Cl...]
Please sign in to view this quote. This CMM is in a dept that is notorious for the operators crashing the head. Not my area, I'm just helping out my other programmer. If it were my CMM, I'd have a camera in there.
