[Me...]
Our Guru wants to migrate all or remote files to a server. I'm a little reticent about this move. I've read several posts that complain about access, permissions, not to mention down time. I've noticed that on the machines provided by Zeiss all the primary folders are located on drive #1, 256 gig. While drive #2, 2 terabytes sits there doing nothing. Can I just move the good stuff to #2 and run it from there seeings that #1 is running out of space and just do backups to the server? Your thoughts. [No...]
What files/folders exactly are we talking about? A general rule with Calypso is: Machine-specific files stay on the local drive, general files can got to the network, but simultaneous access from different CMMs should be avoided. Machine-specific files are the config, base alignments etc.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. There are no issues with accessing the same measurement plan with multiple machines across a network. The misconception with this lies in the fact that the default behavior for Calypso is to store the geoactuals in the measurement program. This can be changed in Extras - Environment - Paths. As long as this is set to a local drive, there are no issues.
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Believe me, I had issues. It may have been a special case, but it took me years to figure out the cause of mysteriously changing protocol header data when plans were edited on different machines.
