Calypso vs Windows Update

As best I can tell, every time there's an update for Windows, Calypso resets to (almost) fresh install settings. The recently opened programs list is cleared, Calypso is in metric, and most setting look to be reset. I seem to remember some conversation about this, but I can't seem to find it. It's like Calypso stores its settings in a temp folder that windows clears during/after an update.

Is anyone else having this problem?

All I have ever experienced with windows update is if a calypso program is open during the update there is the potential to corrupt the program, messes with the Base Alignment.

AFAIK most of the settings are held in "Public" windows user. There was an Windows 10 October update which would clear the User folders, but that was sporadic and only with this update. Other than that I've never heard of updates clearing settings.

Hmmm....

Well, thanks for the input. I was fairly sure it was windows update. The settings resets seem to be once or twice a month, so I'd just associated it with larger system updates. They seemed to coincide. I'll keep watching and see if I can link it with anything else.

Thanks again!

  • 2 weeks later...
It happened again today, the last used programs listed under FILE, are for calibration, which was almost 2 months ago. No programs seen in the "Measurement plans used last" section of the Calypso desktop.

Most settings were reset too.

Grrrrrrr..........
