[Gr...]
This topic actually has two questions I hope can be answered. A nice feature of Calypso is the ability to create mini-plans within the main program which is helpful for in process inspections. Problem some of these mini plans do not require a planar clocking. In fact the feature used is not even on the part at the point of some of those in process operations. I create new base alignments with specific names as it relates to the specific operation that is being run. When I try to "load a saved base alignment" for any of these mini plans they do not match what I am trying to run. They will show back up matching the alignment for the finish program or when we go to run the program for final it will show up as the alignment for the mini plan. It seems they keep overwriting one another. Question two is there a way to name the CNC end park positions so they are easier to recognize for their specific needs. [No...]
A mini plan is always only a subset of the whole measurement plan. It just allows you to select a specific set of features to be evaluated, but it doesn't change the underlying base alignment. If you want to combine different process stages in one measurement plan by using mini plans, you have to use a rather simple base alignment that can be probed in every stage and do the fine alignment for each stage with additional alignments inserted in the plan and assigned to the corresponding features. You may also use the function "Load Alignment" from the resources menu to load an already saved alignment during the run. But the base alignment dialog is the wrong place to do this.
