Wondering if anybody has a maintenance routine for the granite surfaces of their CMM equipment? How often should it be cleaned? Is there a product that anybody uses on their granite that they would recommend?

We use something called JFA Cleaner, we buy it from Zeiss. We wipe our ACCURA II once a week, it's in a lab environment. The other 3 machines are cleaned at least once every morning.

I used the Starrett SP cleaner for a long time. Went to the Aukmon class and they suggested the JSF cleaner. Of course they did as it is a Zeiss product lol

I bought some when I got back. I like it because you can clean everything with it. One stop shop.

I also use cheese cloth to clean with. Been using it for years.

Not exactly a Zeiss product, but closely related. JFA has a long tradition in manufacturing granite plates for metrology (I'm still using a table that was already here when I started as an apprentice 35 years ago 😉 ). I don't know if they still make the tables for the Zeiss CMMs, but they did in the past. So it makes sense that Zeiss also sells JFA's cleaning product.
