Recalling points from Curve into a Feature

I recall closed loop curves in to circles and cylinders all the time. Just use recall feature points.

Pro tip- evaluate the OD and ID of a curve by recalling it into a circle with either max inscribed or min circumscribed evaluation settings.

Isn't that time consuming if you have say and cauliflower looking profile with a ton of inner and outer radii? That's the quick and easy recalling feature points I'm asking about..

Yes, it's easy if you create the curve and feature at the same time. Many of our parts use elongated slots, for connectors, and the drawing calls for a Profile tolerance instead of length/width/position of slot center.

When creating the curve in CAD/Creating Features, I select the lines I need and select curve, then slot. I open the curve and look at the strategy to make sure the point evaluation matches the number of points selected when creating the curve. If it is not the same, keep it as an open curve. Select center of mass in the curve and verify it shows the same centerline dimensions as the slot feature. If the centerlines are the same you can recall the feature points into the slot, just be sure to uncheck the box at the bottom BEFORE you select the curve feature.

This works for any standard feature. Hope this helps.

Alan, good to hear from you again buddy. Hope things are going good over in the world of missiles?

Shawn, I hope these pics help. Notice my original curve and then notice the circle around the OD of the rotor in the second pic. This is just one example.
