Is there a PiWeb tutorial?
The supplied help file n Calypso is worthless for Basic PiWeb, it references PiWeb Plus throughout the entire document.
Why cant Basic PiWeb use the PiWeb Plus editor and still not have the database abilities of PiWeb Plus?

This is so 1980's....

Which version of Calypso are you using? The main difference between PiWeb Reporting and PiWeb Reporting Plus is that Reporting Plus has statistical and GR&R capabilities, and the sample size increases from 10 to 1000 measurements per inspection plan.

Fundamentally, the editor is virtually the same and the methodology used to create and edit reports, add variables and so on is the same.

Unless you are referring to Basic Reporter which was in essence the predecessor of PiWeb Reporting and does use a different (but similar) editor and viewer.

What is it that you are trying to accomplish using PiWeb? I can help you if you let me know your Calypso version.

Calypso 2016 v6.2.x
We will be upgrading to 2017 in 2019.

Basic PiWeb is all we have.
The cost to upgrade all the CMM's cant be justified.

The report you get and template you use look nothing like each other, that alone makes it a bit confusing on what Im looking at or editing.
Most of what I need right now is establishing Header values other than the OEM stuff. We need specific information in our headers.
This is a related post of mine.

Rick,

If you're editing StandardProtocol, the reason that the display vs edit mode does not look the same is because it uses a detailed view option in the Protocol object. Meaning, if you click the small form plot in the top right corner of the report header, and click Detailed, you will see the rows "expand" and form plots will be visible.

Conventionally in a custom template or report, whatever your created object looks like in the editor, it will look the same in both editor & monitor.

Left is my report with my characteristic table, unpopulated in editor. Right is my report, populated in Monitor.

StandardProtocol is a complex little report in the editor mode so I can appreciate why it is difficult to edit. I assure you with the basic objects your editor will look virtually the same as your Monitor.

The weird thing is the post that you linked to uses the old Custom Printout editor and is not PiWeb... so that could be your frustration right there... the Custom Printout has since been replaced with PiWeb and will soon be phased out.

I'm looking to add a Program Revision Date field, I don't see this as an option in the Select Printout Header Parameters window. Can anyone tell me how to add a program revision date to the header of a PiWeb printout?

AWESOME pdf's btw!!!!

You can do the same thing with the PiWeb headers. In the printer header parameters you have 2 check box options. RUN and MEASURE PLAN. If you check RUN box the operator can change the input as it will have a pop up box when the program starts. I use that for a serial number and shift number.

Now If you check the MEASURE PLAN box the operator will not see any of that info so he/she cant change it. But it will show up on ever report after you add it into the header. This is where I put in the rev level, part number and part name. Those do not need to be edited daily. Only way to change that variable is under Resources>> Printer Header Parameters.

PiWeb kinda takes a left turn with the editing of the Headers. Old way was pretty nice.
