[To...]
I have a Best Fit Bore pattern of 5 holes to A, C, & B. A is top plane, C is cone perpendicular to A and B is a symmetry plane. My question is why is Datum C being evaluated on the plot? . .
[De...]
That is strange, can't think why it should be showing Datum C in your report, I kind of suspect it is due to the primary datum not 'locking in' your X and Y location but its really just a guess. That said you might be able to avoid it by making a perpendicular from Datum A to Datum C which would construct Datum A-C as a single datum. I can't be sure that is how it is on the print, however I noticed the True Positions on the report were shown as A-C B. My thinking is that if the primary datum is A-C and defines the orientation and XY location and the secondary only controls rotation about A-C then it should only show the holes. I think in this case it might be helpful as well since I believe the error you are seeing in Datum C on the report is likely caused by Datum C not being perfectly perpendicular to Datum A which is likely causing issues for Calypso when it attempts to determine the center of Datum C. [To...]
This has been this way since the beginning of PiWeb. I've seen this on every BF Bore Pattern that had a circular datum in the DRF.
[De...]
Must be one of those new 'features' of PiWeb I guess. 😉
