Installing Calypso on Laptop

We have an offline programming station that was purchased as a desktop, and we are looking to transfer it to a laptop, for mobility purposes. Has anyone ever done this? Wondering:

a) If there are specific commercial computers that people have purchased, that work well
b) If there are specific graphics cards (ets) that should be used for Calypso software
...or if I should just bite the bullet and order a laptop from Zeiss.

Thanks!

I have a laptop for the offline programming that was purchased for the same reason that you are thinking about; portability. But since there is a dedicated workstation for it the laptop portability has become a mute point. What I don't like about the laptop is the ergonomics of the keyboard and monitor and also the screen size.
What I a using is a home built HP Elitebook 8760w in about the medium range of the Zeiss specifications.
IMHO stay with the Desktop

I'm planning on using the laptop so that I can work from home...
Were there any issues that arose? (specific graphics card requirements, etc)

Thanks

Cost range is $3.3-$5.3K
...seems a little excessive, unless they don't realiza that we are transferring the offline seat that we currently have.

Keith,
The laptop was an off the shelf Elitebook 8760w and all that was changed from what I can see is the graphics card was changed to a NVIDIA Quadro 4000M. IT did the work for me after giving them the requirements published by Zeiss. This 'puter is about 6 yrs old and handles 6.6 without problems.

In the past, I've run Calypso 2015 offline on a store bought Alienware R17 laptop with no issue. There was a slight lag in the cad window if I had a large model open. Still, would recommend following the Zeiss published requirements.
