[Me...]
Hi all, I've been away from Calypso for a couple of years and trying to get back up to speed. When I output form plots for best fit of a bore pattern, the best fit results aren't showing the translational results correctly. The rotational shows, but the translational doesn't match the calculations. It's probably something simple that I'm not understanding or doing wrong. I'm using CALYPSO 2014 , ServicePack 5 Version 5.8.20 (12.08.2015) Thanks as always for your help! Robert
[Ri...]
I think one is in inches, and the other is in metric. Maybe?
[Me...]
That makes perfect sense, Richard! Thanks for the quick response and help. 🙂 The last place I worked at, everything was in Metric so I never saw this problem. I'm guessing I have to figure out how to edit the form plot for BF to change it to inches? I would think that it would match the units chosen in the plan, but maybe not? I'll mess around with it. If anybody else has had this issue or knows more about it, feel free to chime in. Robert
[Ri...]
Is this in PiWeb or the default plot report? Try setting the unit to the one you one via the global setting in Settings - Environment - Language Also you could try it in PiWeb Reporting and see if it defaults correctly. [Me...]
This is in the default report plot. I think 2014 just has the bare bones PiWeb capabilities and I haven't ventured into that yet. The global settings in environment are set to inches and decimal degrees. That's the settings I assumed it would follow. Maybe I have to create a different BF form plot template for inches? Seems odd that I would have to do that to convert units. Seems that this would have come up before if that were the case. bestfitval.gra pulls bestFitValue1 through 3 as variables to populate the results in the report. Trying to figure out if I need to create a new variable or ? Maybe there's a setting somewhere that's overriding the units. I don't know. I'm stumped. [Ri...]
Yeah. That's interesting. Have you updated to the latest Service Pack?
[Me...]
Not yet. I have to go through IT to do that. Trying to avoid that if it's not necessary. I looked through the bug fixes and release notes and didn't see anything related to this. I'm hoping to upgrade eventually, but that stuff can take time and some wrangling to get done. Like I said... I'm amazed that this hasn't come up before. I use/used the BF results all the time to help with machine corrections. I can't believe that nobody else uses that info and/or does everything in Metric. Uggg. 😕
