[Ni...]
is there anyway I can default all my tolerancing to be +/- .005 ? A good 90% of them are so and then I'd just change it when called for.
[Te...]
The easiest way is to change something to ± .005 then after that use last input from the drop down and it will carry the ± .005 until you change it. Once you change to last input that will stay the default for every characteristic moving forward in you program. It will reset when you close the program to fine. [Ow...]
Ever since Calypso version 5.6 or 5.8, You can also use the list editor to change many different characteristic tolerances at the same time. Go to Resources and select the characteristic settings editor and then scroll down to select the characteristic nominal data and then upper or lower tolerances. You can select as many as you want while holding down the shift key and typing the tolerance into the "set tolerance" box.
[Me...]
Another option is to create .xml files of custom tolerances. Then they are available as a choice in the tolerances classes. I do this for our block tolerances, as well as customers and vendors tolerances. Takes more time up front, but saves a lot later.

I constantly change the tolerance inside the features, but never seen a drop down menu, if that's what you mean

I found this link online that guides you on how to make one, but was unsuccessful 😠https://www.ellisontechnologies.com/sit ... ated_0.pdf Idk if its because of the directory, format I made. any ideas? [Ow...]
If you're using the TolTableMaker.xls created by Ryan Stauffer, It's probably because the file locations have changed since this was created by back in the later 2000's. I used to use it at another place I worked and it worked well but, that's been some time ago. If you select the F1 key and bring up the help menu, type in "defining custom tolerance tables" and it has a brief description on how to make your own. I've never used their method. If that doesn't work, Ryan Stauffer now works for Zeiss, I believe in their Tennessee office, and you could probably get a hold him if nothing else works and I'm sure he could figure it out, he's a genius at that stuff.
