[Da...]
Hello. Can you please advise me where should I copy this parameters for me flatness check. ? Where is cutoff wavelength, pre-filter, and sigma. Is this OK ? ? ?
[Me...]
That setting you're showing is not the same thing as the cutoff. The setting at the bottom should be 0 - 10mm as described in the Pre-Filter settings. The 0.025, 0.8, 2.5mm etc. settings is on the previous screen under "Filter". The window you're showing is "Outliers".
[Da...]
Ok thanks. So where can I find information for "Factor for Outlier" , "Range of Data reduction", "No. of iterations" ?
[Me...]
Iterations is defaulted at 3, I do not believe that is suggested to be changed in the Cookbook. The adjacent points is always 5.
[Da...]
Okey thanks. I am using calypso 5.4 nothing is default here.
[Pe...]
The sigma value goes in the Factor For Outlier - Inside Workpiece / Outside Part fields. Change 2.5 to 3 in both boxes.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. My systems always defaults to 1 iteration.
[Me...]
Yep you're right Tom, mine defaults at 1 iteration as well, I think I was looking at the Factor outlier at the top of the window when I typed that 🙄
[Da...]
So,iteration should 1 always ?
[Th...]
Iteration 1 is default, but you can try more. As I can say, the more are sometimes the better. My standard is 4 because there are always some nasty single points the regular filters can't kill without losing too many points. Iteration means how often it repeats the other filters. (It works like a lawn mower that drives the same track over and over 🤣 )
[To...]
I believe the filters are applied only after the outlier elimination process is completed. I also believe the iterations are only processing the outlier elimination. And, the use of the proper pre-filter settings is key to eliminate the effects of poor form . Without the correct pre-filter settings, outlier elimination has a tendency to remove too many good points. If I have mis-stated something, I am open for correction.
