probing a chamfer point

hello , we are inspecting a part where the chamfer depth is critical to the counterbore of a part. i have tried using "probing point" but it deflects on the part and gives me bogus results. i measure it using a drop gauge and it is not right. I am wondering is there any other way i can go around checking this to get better results.

i have attached a picture

You need the chamfer depth on the small ID top of the drawing?

Measure the ID cylinder, the chamfer (cone) and the top plane. Intersect the cylinder & cone & shell the result. Do the same with the cone & plane. Create a secondary alignment, spatial rotate plane and Z origin it. Get simple distance between shelled circle to shelled circle using the secondary alignment you created.
