Can someone give me an estimate of what it cost to get freeform? I am in a situation that might finally convince them to purchase it.

From what I understand now though is that you get Freeform and Curve as a package deal. I don't think they will split it up. we tried to just get Freeform on our Planner seat and they told us it is a package deal now and we only have Freeform on our CMM machines.

What is the combined cost for both?
Apparently they don't give discounts for being good looking (haha) because, I paid around $6400 for just curve four years ago.
If it's close to that cost it might be a good deal.

This might be a stupid question. If we upgrade to curve/freeform, should we upgrade all of our seats? We have 2 Conturas and one Planner seat for offline programming. What would happen if you measured curved surfaces on the licensed machine then on the machine without? Would the program just not calculate anything associated with those features or not run the program at all?

Also, does anyone have any opinions on the benefits to upgrading?

Tom, I know you're probably within that senior citizen discount level of pricing so, following the standards I was raised by, I'll respect my elders comments and leave it at that.....HAHAHAHAHA

That's funny and all, but what's up with the old guys here all having more hair than us younger guys? Judging by Troland and myself's pic, I think you guys are winning the hair battle.

Back to the question. I have Curve on my CMM computers but not on the planner seat. If I try to use curve features on my planner seat I get an error that says "curve option not available". It doesn't bother me that I don't have curve on my planner seat; However, I have access to the two CMM's with curve on them virtually anytime I want. So it is not as big of a problem for me as it may be for other people.

As far as pricing goes, I have always had curve. When I quoted freeform they quoted me around $5500 or so per seat. I didn't not get any information about a package discount. If anyone has, I would love to hear the details.

Just requested a quote...Curve and Freeform are now sold as a package and for 6900 before any discounts. I really don't understand why they can't just have prices available on the website. They essentially just create inconvenient steps so you can eventually find out how reasonably priced the software is...

120 grand for a Contura sounds like a great price.
Then next year you need 20 grand more for a Rayco plate, a half dozen more docks, FF, Curve, & PCM.

Me: Hey i need some AA batteries for the cordless mouse on the Zeiss.
Purchasing: Throws a stapler at me & slams the door.
