datums

Hi,

I would just like your opinion, how would you set up datums A and B?
"A" would consist of A1, A2 and A3.

I have symmetry 2 for primary datum,
(took cylinders A2 and A3 into symmetry 1,
took symmetry 1 and cylinder A1 into symmetry 2)

For secondary, I was thinking like 3D line between symmetry 1 and cylinder A1.

Is there more sophisticated way to set up datums A and B?

please check the attachments

I'm using Calypso 6.4.20

Datum A is a hole pattern. I would measure 3 cylinders A1, A2, and A3, and set the evaluation of each to outer tangent. Create an intersection of each cylinder to the top plane and bottom plane. Create a point recalling the top 3 and a point recalling the bottom 3. Create a 3D line from those two points and call it your datum A. Datum B either don't make sense or it has me stumped. Long story short, I would use the plane at the bottom of the 31.5 distance by itself. The symmetry between that plane and a single point is not going to change anything. The symmetry or the plane by itself will be the same. Or, is that a distance between the cylinders. It's not clear.
