[Me...]
I have an issue when changing Stylus Systems from the Rack. After creating a new Stylus System it seems to keep selecting the most recent system that was made instead of my default Z- probe or Probe 1... I know there is a solution using Probe Calibration Characteristic and changing the default probe but is there another way to fix this issue? [To...]
Whatever stylus is active when you close the Probing System Qualification window becomes the default stylus after a stylus system change.
[Me...]
You're talking about after you've completed the calibration of a the new stylus, correct? So the solution is changing to the stylus I want before closing the calibration window..
[To...]
Yes, but it doesn't matter if you've done a qualification or not. Just the simple act of closing the Probing System Qualification window. Whatever stylus is active, becomes the default when you close the window.
[Me...]
Sorry Tom, just to clarify... The window you're talking about, is it the Stylus System window or the Probe Calibration Characteristic window?

[Wo...]
When we were still using the XXT we had the following problem: The stylus to which the head rotated after stylus system change was the one with the highest stylus number. It didn't matter which stylus was selected in that window when it was closed, it always defaulted to the one with the highest number. Zeiss guys didn't believe us so we got them here and proved it. After that they tested it at their place and got the same thing. That's why we created a stylus used for changing styli ( don't remember the A/B - its the one rotated to the left ) and gave it no# 99. This way after picking the system from the rack it always stayed in that position without rotating. Not sure if anybody else can replicate this, or would it still be an issue as we have stopped using XXT 3 years ago due too many collisions ( replaced the head unit 3 times) Regards, Wojciech
[To...]
What happens if you have over 99 probes? I know a company who has over 300 positions on some of their systems.
[Wo...]
Well we've used number 99 because we didn't go over a hundred. Maybe you can use 999? Again, maybe it doesn't happen anymore, that was over 3 years ago. I don't even remember what version of Calypso.
