CMM-OS DME

I have a question concerning the CMM-OS DME and calibration.

We are running Calypso on our Contura G2. Every night, the styli are calibrated in Calypso. Occasionally, we close Calypso, run the DME, and run PC-DMIS. I wasn't sure if anybody here understood the calibration process through the DME. I am interested to see if anybody agrees with the following statements or can provide some more information.

1. Calibration results that are obtained in Calypso are not sent out to PC-DMIS.
2. Calibration results that are obtained in the DME are sent out to PC-DMIS.
3. If the above are true, and we calibrate exclusively in Calypso, our PC-DMIS side is not being calibrated - results cannot be trusted.
4. The stylus systems will need to be calibrated individually through the DME as no calibration program can be ran.
5. In order to run both Calypso and PC-DMIS, we will need to double our calibration time (once in Calypso, once in DME).

I am not sure which of the above statements are correct, but I'm leaning toward believing all of them. If anybody here is knowledgeable of this matter, I would greatly appreciate some input.

Thank you.

Jacob,
We run Calypso and Quindos on Prismo Navigator,Calypso and DME(CMM-OS) use two different servers. So when we use Calypso,we calibrate stylus. When we use Quindos,we calibrate stylus in CMM-OS,and we can call the stylus data use the attached
codes to get stylus data from CMM-OS when we are running Quindos. We don't need do the calibration in Quindos software.
I have no idea about PC-DMIS running by CMM-OS,but I hope it could help you a little bit.

Thank you Jonas,

It is my understanding that PC-DMIS will pull calibration information from the DME by the LOADPROBE command, which is necessary to measure. What you are saying is justifying my opinion that we actually need to perform calibration twice if using PC-DMIS and Calypso concurrently, namely once in Calypso and once in the DME.

Is this something that you were told you must do when somebody came to set up Quindos/DME?

CMM-OS and Calypso use different stylus system database, so at first you are right, you need calibrate twice.

You can try start CMM-OS out of Calypso, then you can use same probes maybe. Never tried this by myself though.
To do this, click "More... => Taskbar" in the traffic light window and then click the CMM-OS symbol there.
