[Te...]
Using Calypso 2018 with Windows 7 and getting this error message when trying to move (drag) characteristics from one spot to another. Has anyone else seen this? I am going to shut everything down tonight and see if it happens first thing tomorrow morning. I did install the latest patch after seeing this message and it did not seem to help. If I cut and paste no issues only when I try to drag a characteristic or a bunch of characteristics. [Ro...]
Attention Zeiss..... I have an idea, System Error windows that people can actually read. I would post this in the bug fix, but unless something has changed, i know nobody reads those.
[Ch...]
Systemerror is standart in Calypso....
[Te...]
It is only happening on the actual CMM PC; do not see this error with my off line seat. Only thing that I know of that is different is the windows updates are more up to date on the CMM PC (I might have did the SQL server update on the offline seat too?). [No...]
I may be wrong, but the message reads like Calypso is trying to read or write the registry. Have you checked your registry permissions?
[Te...]
It was an issue on my end not a Zeiss issue. I had the customer, at training, set read only on a template program and we accidentally picked the folder not inspection and it update all the folders to read only which I did no realize until after I tried to can it back. To be honest I am surprised that anything worked after doing that. I finally got the folder or file to read and write so I could uninstall and reinstall the software and hopefully this will fix it. I know a new config file fixes it but I am hoping a re-install will set it right.
[Te...]
So I have it fixed...Uninstalling and re-installing did not work. Luckily I had a back up of the config folder. Once I replace the config all is well. I have started telling people to back up the config folder during the basic class for just an emergency like this. [Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. This is great. Maybe a reminder for a backup of qdasconv.con_default file also and the protform folder. So the paths to the stuff I will backup with every service pack/patch upgrade in the future: - C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO -> config folder - C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO -> qdasconv.con_default - C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\protocol -> protform
[No...]
All of this (except a custom-named qdasconv.con) will be saved by the internal Calypso backup function: Extras -> Setings -> Miscellaneous -> Maintenance -> Save If you're in doubt if something got saved, rename the "backup.set" file to "backup.zip" and check. Be aware however that the folder structure in the zip is different. I save all my settings every few weeks, together with all base alignments (the latter is done by a batch file) Saved my butt a few times already. [Te...]
So I am sad to announce the error is back. The new config fixed it but after turn off the CMM and powering it back up those error messages are back. Does anyone know what folder or file it is trying to access so I can fix it? [Te...]
So what is funny about this error is that you can cut and paste the characteristics fine but you cannot drag them. Anyone know how to undo the read only issue?
[Te...]
Just an update on this: Finally figured out the problem, The read only did mess it up but that did not fix the problem or was the cause of the problem (I think). The problem is caused when you go to view/configuration... and turn on big buttons. I use Big Buttons for training because it is easier to see, in 2018 only the toolbar buttons are big not all the icons in the drop down so it is very nice. BUT..do not use it until they fix it because it cause the error message when you try to drag characteristics. Problem has been report (Thanks Sam).
