New to PiWeb...

Hi everyone,

Three questions here: first, when I have anything with an angle it shows nominals instead of my angles. How can I fix this?

Second, I'm trying to create my own header ( no offence to Zeiss ) but cannot figure out where to go the add fields that I have created. For instance, instead of Operator we have Inspector. I have all I need in my userfields.ini to create my drop down menu but cannot add it to Calypso. Any advise? I did just get back from the Advance Class but we didn't work on this much, only followed the instructor. I thought it was going to help but can't remember how to add the fields.

And third, when I open the shortcut to PiWeb it tells me that no licence has been activated. I thought this should have been done when setting up the software update to Calypso 6.4. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for any advice,
Justin

Are you using the full version of PiWeb or only the PiWeb reporting that comes with Calypso? If you only have reporting, you don't need the desktop icon that's installed with Calypso, this is only for the full version.

The process to add a field from the userfields.ini depends a bit on your Calypso version. In 2017 you can just add a text box to the header area and fill it with the following variable:

${Qdb.Property("u_field3)}

Replace "u_field3" with whatever your field is named. You can either type the above directly into the text box or add the variable like this: Go to the properties of the text box and click the "..." button to the right of the "Text" field. Scroll down to "Data provider" and select "Name-Value-Pair". Enter the field name in quotes in the input box: 127_d2f959a6be3cf9b81cd104e2af4cd467.jpg

Here is the way I do it in laymens terms lol Go to the edit menu as out lined below...

Next is the user field editor. Like the vid, enter in your data on the left. Here I have added in a field for Inspector. If you want a drop down menu of names etc click the check box on the left right click in the box and enter your names. This will create your drop down box 137_f6a8ccd626aab7db0133189abc42ad34.jpg
Then save it out. Go back the Multiple print out tab and follow the picture to add the inspector field to your report. I use the RUN column so that the operator can change what I need them to. If you do NOT want the operator changing any entries, check the box under measurement column. 137_2a6d06c0217093ce30775166b552585c.jpg
Now to add the new Inspector field to your report follow the outlined screen shot below. Drag the text icon over into the page twice. Add in Inspector in the left side box and add in the inspector variable as Norton outlined. I do it a different way as I have shown in the screen shot below but get the same results. Don't for get the " " and make sure it is spelled the same way as when you entered it on the user fields page.

Whewww.. Now to change font highlight the word. In this case Inspector then on the left side open the PROPERTIES tab and you can change it there.

I usually only change the font of the things that will show up on the report. In this case just the word inspector. If you need more space for the data, click the data field and drag the box out to the right. I do this for my comments field so I can type in more info. If not, it will be cut out if its outside the text box perimeter.

That should get u started. I did all this the old fashion way. Clicking boxes and screaming at the PC because nothing was showing up lol. Hope it helps ya some
