DuraMax Styli

We just recived a DuraMax and I'm about to assembly a couple of stylus configurations that we intend to use.

The weight on one off them ended up at 17,5 grams. Can I expect issues? (I guess not but as I said, it just showed up and I never used one before.)

For all the vast plates I use the fix assist, but even before we got that one I managed to build pretty accurate configurations. (They pointed in the right direction anayway..)
Do anyone have any ghetto tips of how to make life a little easier? Not used to small junk. I will definitely buy all configurations assembled in the future, but there is a "minor" time issue now...

Any tips will be much appreciated.

Yes its all zeiss. I can make that one of in to two. But it will be used for adaptive manufacturing and right now time is not a factor since the generation of the cam-program based upon the measuring and milling time takes a little longer then the actual measuring. But i still dont like the idea of have more probes then absolutely nessisarly in the holder.

What issue may I encounter? Inaccuracy or complete incompabillity?

(sorry for spelling, my new Phone "corrects" based upon swedish....)

It's hard to say what kind of problems you'll have with this without seeing the stylus system. Is it fairly well balanced? That'll help but in my experience, once you go over weight the controller get's crabby and starts throwing error messages at you. Inertia might cause false probings. If you've got a RDS and start throwing it around at different angles, that will cause a lot of wear and tear on the sensor's internals. The best solution is to buy a great big Prismo with a integrated rotary table and a VAST Gold head but if that's not possible, then split the stylus system up into two, within specification, stylus systems.

Yeah, a Prismo Ultra would be nice, but it's bought for one purpose only, measure a cast blade, create a unique cam-program, measure again to see if meets requirements. Next blade and repeat... And its also located next to the milling machine.

Well I'll split it in to two, I'll just leave a big note to not touch anything. 🙂

Well I'm quiet Lucky, There are super tight tolerans on the blade root. But since its clamped by the CNC fixture it's not possible to measure. 🙂 So the thightest tolerance is profile line of 0.05 on one segment (leading edge and 25% of the chord width on suction side)
