[Te...]
How would I correctly dimension this? I have a Plane for Datum A, a bore Ø for Datum B and 2 Pin Ø's that make up Datum C. I want a position to A and B but not sure if I need to separate them into two Ø's and make all the other positions to | A | B | C1-C2 | or if the Ø's treated as a pattern (2 x) is OK. I think it is but want to make sure. I was going to just use POS | Ø 0.1 MMC | A | B | is that enough or do I need to add a composite under it to restrain further? The 2 pins is what stop rotation and I think this would be enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pardon the sketch I had to use WORD. 😃 All I want for Calypso is to use a 3d Line from the 2 Ø's for the planar rotation. Trying to get another Alignment out of the CAD Cube for training. 🙄Position Question.JPG
[De...]
If there is nothing else that you also need to use the C datum for, then POS | Ø 0.1 MMC | A | B 2 Places will work because they both have the same call out to the same datum reference frame with the same modifiers they are a simultaneous requirement so they basically become the datum. That said if you have other things that you want to also tie to the rotation provided by C then you might want to specifically define the C datum so that other features do not need to be considered when determining rotational location. [De...]
On the original example, the two holes were centered on the datum Axis, on your example they are not, that makes all the difference.
