PiWeb Reporting Software locked at 4 Decimal places? Can I change?

Hi,

So I have a program that is set to use 0.000 (3 Places) . But when I open up PiWeb Reporting and populate the data, I see all these red measurements because it shows everything at .0000 Places. I go into Edit Measurements and it says the feature is at 4 Places, but the program it is at 3.....

How do I change the PiWeb Reporting to change to 3 Places... I even tested it and made a test program with 0.0 places.. it also shows .0000 or 4 Places in the report when I populate it into PiWeb Reporting.

Pretty much I want the Reporting software to show exactly the results of the Report. The report is green when initially inspected, but its red in the Reporting software.

Firstly, where are you setting the # of decimal places - the Characteristics Settings editor or Measurement Plan editor?

To check the # of decimal places that is being dictated and stored in the server - Open your program that has been run and has results. Then go to Resources > Results to File... > PiWeb Reporting > Managing Measurements.

Then double click on one of your measurement records on the left hand side or click Measured Values.

If you scroll over you can find a column called Decimal Places. What's there?

In short, there are 2 ways of controlling the decimal places on the reporting side. Primarily the report will use the # of decimal places that is logged in the database. If you open a report in the designer and go to Tools > Settings you will see a default decimal places setting with a little warning that advises you of this.

If for example you want to store 5 decimal places worth of data but only display 3 decimal places, you can go to your text field properties and control the # of decimal places there. Go to Number formatting > Custom > and then type 0.00 or 0.000 (whatever you want). Save the report.
