Profile w/datum

I am using FFS for profile evaluation. 6 planes make up the FFS which is being evaluated back to Datum -B- which is the OD beneath and concentric to it. When I enter Datum -B- into the characteristic I get no deviation. If I create a secondary alignment using Datum -B-, I get the deviation. Any idea why this is happening?150_8fbfecc4b5648d570f0ea56084376974.png

I've had trouble in the past with FCF's with less than 3 datums. I usually just keep adding the secondary datum until a result displays. I have to do this with profiles a lot.

Why do you show a cylinder for Datum A? Create a Free Form Surface feature. Recall all of the points into this FFS feature. Select the surfaces from the model that you need to evaluate. Use the FFS in the Surface Profile and use Datum B as the Primary.
Ditch the secondary alignment.

🤣 Tom, thank you for opening my eyes to an obvious mistake. Is it Monday again?

I had the wrong feature plugged in to the characteristic. It works just fine now.

I don't how many times I went out on a shop floor to give someone some grief only to rethink my program as I'm walking out there and realizing I did that same thing. I started using the " think twice, speak once" philosophy.
