[Aa...]
Does anyone have experience with Base Alignment Match? How does it work? Specifically, I would like to flip my part over and measure a cavity in the bottom. But how does it put the two sets together?
[Ri...]
Base Alignment match won't work for flipping a part over. If you had a part that was too long to measure, you could use BA Match to sync up alignments after sliding the part forward. That's my understanding of the function from a few years and versions ago, so take that into consideration. If you need to flip a part to get at some features and have them measured to a coordinate system built from the initial setup, you will want to find a feature, or better yet, a number of features that you can get to from both setups. Through bores are fabulous but whatever you have that you can get to will work. First, determine where the common features are in the initial setup. Then flip the part, and measure the common features and translate, rotate the alignment so their location and orientation matches the initial setup. +X might turn in -X of course but the location will be the same. [Aa...]
Thanks, that's kind of what I was picturing. I wanted to use the features of the Base Alignment. But is there a way to loop the match, like I looped the BA?
[Ri...]
Yes, create a loop statement for the New Alignment Characteristic and the argument will be differenceSystem().<characteristic> valueA, X, Y, Z, euler1, 2, or 3 are all possible for this. [Er...]
That feature are for optimal sensors only, isn't it?
[Aa...]
I don't know about "only". The concept is essentially stitching two data sets together using common reference features. I don't see what part of that would have to be exclusive to optical sensors.
[Aa...]
Well, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have the loop in place. I have Automatic Measurement set for the Match. Yet for some reason, Calypso doesn't run the Match automatically. Is it possible it's breaking the loop before it starts if I have differenceSystem().valueA<0.0005 for the break condition? [Cl...]
First time I've heard of Base Alignment match. Where is this option located? What does it do?
