Calibrating a probe with 0.2mm ball

Recommended Posts

Hello, everybody,

someone can give me tips for calibrating a probe with a 0.2mm ball,
regarding the settings for a TL3 - measuring head?
The "sensitive attitude" seems sensible to me, only when it comes to "dynamics" I am not sure! 🙁

Doesn't want to destroy the sensitive thing during calibration: 😃

As of the last time I checked, the sphere coverage for a passive qualification uses all 180° regardless of what you enter. A geometry requal will use the value entered. However, since the bending map is created with the passive at 180°, isn't it already too late.
I've done several repeatability studies with the XXT TL1 heads. You get better numbers if you don't go below 20%. Why, I don't know. But at any rate I would think the TL3s would yield similar results.

Contrary to popular belief, those really small shanks hold up pretty good as long as you use some common sense. And no, they won't break if you look at them wrong. The rubies seem to fall off more than anything, probably can't get much glue on them.
