[Ja...]
I have a print with perpendicularity of a plane .4 relative to Plane [A] [B] (projected tolerance zone 50 next to A in the DRF). and (projected tolerance zone 50 next to B in the DRF). The problem I am having is the feature is parallel to plane A. Is that legal?
[Cl...]
I know it's self explanatory, but can you show us the drawing?
[Aa...]
Ha! There could well be something in the ISO GPS series I don't know about here, but as far as Y14.5 is concerned, putting the projected tolerance zone in the DRF is not legit, nor does it make any sense. As to parallelism/perpendicularity question, they are both just specific variants of angularity, which are sometimes applicable based on the basic geometry. There's no reason someone couldn't use angularity in place of both 100% of the time. In a case like yours, I would simply assume they meant parallelism. [Ja...]
That's what I was thinking Aron. Thanks for the sanity check. The print does state ASME Y14.5 2009. Here is a crude sketch of what is on the print.20180808064606360.pdf
