[Me...]
Just got this error on two models from two different companies. Asked the programmer of the surfcam software if they had had any recent upgrades. No. He does convert from step to igus but been doing that for years. [Ri...]
Interesting. I haven't seen this before. Have you tried selecting an edge directly from the model? Turn the model to wire-frame only, and then go to CAD - Creating Features. Select the edge (spline) and extract the Line. Do you perform any Automatic Healing on models when you bring them in? I'm not a big fan of IGES files as I've had a lot of issues with them in the past. STEP files seem to be a better universal standard. Just my own opinion though. [Me...]
I've actually had more issues with stp. files than iges. I lay it at the engineers feet. How they handle it, what version, what ever. I'll put in service pack 16 and the patch 'cause one thing I've done recently was to enter service pack 14. If it doesn't stop I'll be one the phone. [Ma...]
I've actually moved away from the Line creation tool. I now just use Define Points and pick 2 points along the line I want to create. It will automatically create the line. Then I go and edit the line to what I need. Mark
[Ri...]
The text, "Division by 0 is not allowed" tells me there's problem with the controller working with the data provided. I've never had a problem with the Line creation tool other than it's irritating when I try and move the model after creating a line but that's another rant. I don't think this is a model or version/service pack issue. Mark's suggestion of using Define Points to create the line is the best idea. It always works and it's two clicks.
