O Inspect Z axis

Hello,

We recently got a O-inspect, up to this point I have only used the Duramax. I will be going out for training for it soon but in the meantime I did mess around with it a little bit. I am pretty impressed with the camera but what I realized is that the probe does not reach the stage, it stops short about an inch from the surface. Is this a safety feature to not slam the probes into the glass? Is there anyway to change where the stop is? We will still be using the probes for a lot of jobs and the parts in that department are quite small it would never reach them without fixturing.

Use extensions for your styli to get it closer, you can't change the stop.

Ok thank you guys. I have already added a plate on the stage to get around it but I was hoping to get away from that. I was going to try a longer extension but I was worried that it wasn't so much a physical stop and maybe just programmed in to stop the probe at a certain height. I thought maybe if I got a longer probe after qualifying it would just stop it earlier with the probe at the same height, did not want to buy the extension if it wasn't going to help.
