[De...]
I am programming in simulator. I have a feature that is measured in the base alignment and again later in the program( I know I can just recall the feature points and what not but my curiosity is engaged) The feature in question is a cylinder. The cylinder in the base alignment works properly. The other cylinder which is a copy of the first causes the simulator collision detection to trigger. I have checked retract, and clearance distances, tried adding cmm positions, tried re-extracting the feature from the model but it looks like the the helix path finished, it "retracts" in the wrong direction. I even checked the ID vs OD button. Nothing seems to help and it is driving me crazy. I just want to understand what is happening.
[Ma...]
First, check the trihedron of the feature. Is the Z pointing out of the feature? If not, this may cause an entry problem. Click on the Space Axis of the feature and reverse the direction if this is the case. You may need to adjust your helical scan. Mark
[De...]
Z is pointing straight up
[Ma...]
Is this hole at an angle and you need Clearance Distance activated? Just trying to get an idea of how the part looks. Mark
[De...]
The cylinder is perpendicular to the granite. The Trihedron is oriented the same in the base alignment as it is in the feature except for the x and y origins.
[No...]
In case dispersion is turned on, turn it off and try again. Generally: There are a few situations when simulation does weird things. Under certain circumstances the virtual machine moves right through the granite after a probe change. I've learned to ignore that. Maybe your problem falls in that category? [Mi...]
Just a wonder... did you check which clearance group you are set to for that feature?
[Ma...]
I've had similar issue as Norbert has described. If you checked everything and it looks correct just move on and run it slow when you proof out your program. It may just be a simulation issue.
