secondary alignment

We have a cylindrical part that has to be locked down using the planar rotation, but I have a bolt hole pattern that needs to be checked, that may or may not match the Base Alignment. Can a stop be put in the program with a MANUEL secondary alignment, to check the bolt hole pattern? It may be easier in the long run to just run a second Inspection to check them. Thank you to everyone for your help!!!

Unless you have some special circumstance going on with this part that I am unaware of, there is no need to put a programmable stop to do a manual alignment. Just create a secondary alignment to match the FCF.

Yes, I do this from time to time on parts thats been welded together, with no rotational constraint between them.

Just define one hole, and then set that to manual. Create a difference system with rotation clocked by that hole.
Now, define the same hole again, and place it in the diff sys. with 0 in the axis that match. Create your pattern and youre done.

It's possible to make this by cnc to, with the "missing bore" function. But some times that takes twice the time in the cmm. And time is money..😃
