I have a part with 3 points for datum A all three are different heights and need projected to a ctr location. along with 2 B datums to create a line. the B points are different in the Z and the Y. I need to move these points to create my base alighnment. For A I used a step plane. but how do I move the points for B line?

I always use formulas to move such points. I probe each point seperately, then recall the ones that have to be moved in new points. In the recalled points I modify the formulas of the desired coordinate(s) to reflect the movement.

From your Features pulldown menu select Special Geometries/Offset Plane. Open up the new feature and probe the points. After you have that, click on Evaluation and go to Point Modification and click on the Edit button. Here you can enter in the values for the different heights of the probing points. This is a relative distance from one point to another and not a absolute print value.

ive got the offset plane the problem is the line I need to create for "B". I need to move the points. they create a compound angle that needs to be a straight ctr line.

Sorry, I missed the Datum B points part of the story. Tom is correct here. RPS alignment will be your best choice.
