[Ri...]
I have a unique job where I need to have the Custom Print Out calculate and display prior to the completion of the program. For now I have a mini plan setup to run what is needed prior to the completion of the program. Using a mini plan causes the Incremental Counter to count up one digit. I need to prevent this as it causes some confusion with basic operators who tend to forget to change the counter back to the original number (Serial numbered parts). Table files are sent to a reporting tool, when the counter is not reset it results in an invalid serial number. This causes me to have to edit the data collection for each incident. Is there a method where I can force the display of a Custom Print Out without activating the Incremental Counter?
[Ow...]
With 30 some views and no reply prior to writing this, I hope I'm not the only confused? Are you asking the operators to add stuff to the report before it closes? For clarity, how are you running a mini-plan before the completion of the program when normally, the mini-plan is selected to run in the start menu when you start the program, ....PCM? [Ri...]
The mini plan is the first thing to run. The operator doesn't need to add any input. After the completion of a mini plan the incremental counter automatically adds to its value, I need to generate a Custom Printout with out triggering the incremental counter. [Ra...]
Is this as simple as not using the incremental counter? Or, do you want to increment, but only after the completed program? As always, I'll ask if you have PCM. If so, I'm conjuring up an idea.
[Ja...]
Is this a case where if certain characteristics pass then you don't need to run the rest of the program? If so then you can right click and add a condition that will end the program or continue. I have never used it though so I might not be of much more help. [Er...]
In my opinion it would be easier to check if the incremental part number has been reset and if not, reduce the number with 1 after the mini plan is completed, or at the start of the second run. Forcing, as an example the custom printout in the middle of a run is a horrible amount of code if I remember correctly.
[Ri...]
Thanks for the replies. Eric is most likely right, it may be more than its worth to tackle.
[Ow...]
I'm sure you've considered using the condensed custom print-out without the characteristic symbols but, I thought I'd mention it nothing less. Takes up less pages. Once had a sister company that was printing out hundreds of pages a day for record keeping while using the large symbol's report. Probably responsible for losing half the rain forest but, that's none-my-business.
