[Ca...]
I have a part with a bunch of small angled holes in it. The angled holes are partially controlled by a diameter they create when intersecting a face inside the part. I need a prompt that instructs the operator to enter the actual distance to that face, then Calypso will translate the actual distance down, and construct the diameter. I don't have PCM. Assuming I've been clear enough about what I need, how can I do this?
[Ow...]
Can you post a picture of the part/feature you're trying to check to help us understand? You may not be able to do this without PCM but, an illustration showing what you're trying to accomplish may help. I've attached one method that may help.Searching for features vs manul.docx
[Ca...]
I can't post prints or models. I have a bunch of compound angled holes intersecting a face, kind of like uncooked spaghetti in a pot. I need to know the "bolt circle" made by the holes (spaghetti) intersecting a plane that I can't get to on the CMM. I want to check a height with another method, then have the program ask me what that height was, and insert that value in as the height of the plane (or bottom of the pot) so I can construct my circle. Does that make sense??Capture.JPG
[Ow...]
Well, now I'm a bit confused and hungry...lol Still not exactly sure what you're trying to do but, to ask the operator to input the data, I believe you are going to need PCM. What you could do though,is, have one feature measure the depth you speak of and bring in another feature and use a formula in the dimensions you just measured from the last feature. Right click in the new feature nominal and select formula and choose the actual from the last feature (x,y,z,dia, rad, all kinds of options) to bring it in to that feature. You can then set as the nominal and if you need it to be the actual, change the feature to be a theoretical feature and then click in the actual box and use the formula . May have to do it to a lot of features and then recall the results into a circle (bolt circle).
[Vi...]
One way to go around PCM would be to use "Result Element". The "Result Element" would allow you to prompt a window to input manual data. Once the data is inside of Calypso you can use formula after, inside of some feature to recall that information you need.I believe you would need to run your measurement plan thru the characteristic mode. Let me know if that help?
[Ca...]
Thanks Vincent. I'd been looking through Result Elements options. I'm afraid I don't really know much about formulas. Can you please explain how to prompt a window to manually input data? It sounds like that could be what I'm looking for.
[Vi...]
There is two way to use "Result Element", select "Result input" so when your program run a new window will prompt. Check the file attach and let me know if that help!result.docx
