Masked Characteristics

I updated to 6.4 a couple weeks ago, and I just noticed that masked characteristics are still appearing in the printouts. This is a simulation seat, maybe it will mask when I actually run them? Am I missing something?

What version did you upgrade from? What kind of characteristics are they?

We had this problem with some masked bolt pattern true position characteristics when we upgraded from 5.4 to 5.8 a couple years ago.

The only solution was to use multiple printouts, use the new "Mark characteristics" feature, and check the "Hide" option to hide marked characteristics.

I upgraded from the second most current. (6.2, 6.0?? I don't remember) The characteristics aren't complicated, one is a distance between two cones intersecting the same cylinder, like a big o-ring groove. I'm also checking the cone angles, for internal process, but masking those findings. Except, they're not maksed.

are you using multiple printout mode or not. If you are new to 6.4 you might want to do a little research on multiple printout mode

On version 2017, Multiple Printout is active on any NEW program. If you load an older program, it will remain however you saved it last. This is all part of the process of weening you into PiWeb. Embrace it or the Calypso train will leave you standing on the platform.... 🤣

Yeah.. more like embrace the ridiculous licensing fees to simply make reports which IMO is something that any CMM *NEEDS* to do to be useful.. but hey.. lets charge additional license fees for that functionality.

They give you the most basic version of it for free sure - its like a drug dealer giving you your first taste free.

New machines get the plus version with it at no charge.. existing customers sorry - big license fee for each machine.

Curious whats next.. maybe they can charge us for how many points we take on a scanpath?

Gotta say, policies like these are why I tell people that Zeiss is great but I probably wouldn't buy one if I owned my own shop. 😠

They did a similar thing with Profiles, you can barely use any features in a profile unless you have Curve or FreeForm.
You cant even use a 2d Line or 3d Line in a profile of a line. If you have the Basic Curve all you can do is print out a profile of every single point in that curve.
