Qualify Stylus, RC-CAA and Passive Modes

It has been a minute since i have used an articulating head, Vast XXT-TL3. My question is when i reference the Master Probe the mode is RC-CAA. Is this supposed to be Passive mode? I reference Sphere and it has Fitting box instead of Qualify Stylus box. Then i click on the Fitting and run the Master Probe for the different angles. I must be missing something or i am over thinking? Then i go to change probes to a .50x50mm and it still says RC-CAA and i qualify stylus and it fails qualification. When i use a different probe it gives me Passive for the mode. So correct me if i am wrong the only difference from RC-CAA and Passive modes is the amount of angle it qualifies?
