Cookbook / Feature defaults

When a new program is created, and features are extracted. For example, you extract a circle and, in

the strategy, there are default point spacing, speed, etc. Are those values recommended default. Or are the arbitrary?

You can change the default strategies for various feature types under Resources-Save/Load Defaults.

I don't know if a new install of the software has any defaults set or not.

This is something I’d like to see added to Calypso, the writers of the Cookbook. When a feature is scanned and filter and outliers applied why can’t Calypso set the evaluation automatically based on the nominal of size, probe radius, etc… They have this information and they should be able to apply it and let the programmer change if needed.

Clarke,

I don't think the values are arbitrary, but they have definitely been set in favor of cycle time. I use custom defaults for scanning speed and point density.  The out-of-the box defaults are a bit faster and less dense in point spacing than what I've found to provide the most stable, balanced result for our processes.
