large part clear plane issues

hello everyone,

I am extremely new to using Zeiss calypso software. I have been a PC dmis guy for over 15 years. I have taken the beginner class for Zeiss calypso and am working on making some programs for our new cmm. I have a MASS Contura 6206 with a vast XXT RDS articulating head. CMM dimensions are 9/12/6. I often work with having to measure large parts that push the limitations of the cmm's usable length width and heights as well as i have to use fairly lengthy probes that really limit my travel distances. I'm finding it extremely difficult to measure these parts because I am having to use Clearance planes that encompass these large parts. When I do that, it has become nearly impossible for me to navigate probe changes and head rotations because the system always wants to pass through the clearance planes before doing those action. I know there has got to be a way to move out away from the part to do head rotations before and after measuring a feature that does not require passing through a clearance plane. I have read a few things about a swivel rotate feature but I have no knowledge on how it works, nor can I find anything detailed enough about it to learn it and apply it to my program. The only thing that has worked for me so far is having my clearance planes set to be grossly smaller than my actual part and that is going to cause me to have a really bad day when it ends up trying to run through a fixture or the part itself. I really hope someone can help me out with this and educate me in what and how this can be done. It's been very frustrating thus far and I want to learn and enjoy this software the same way I do pc dims so I can produce the same level of programs that I do on Zeiss cmms as I do pc dmis.

Navigation - Rotate/Swivel Position - Create New - 3rd icon will set it to pass one of the Clearance Planes (e.g. +Z or +Y, etc)

...that is the extent of my knowledge of Rotate/Swivel positions😁
