MMC made by true position giving a different diameter

Hello, this is my first time posting a question on this forum, so please let me know any additional info i can add to help. I am also very new to calypso.

I am having issue adding MMC to a true position between 2 cylinders. Screenshot2024-12-16135639.thumb.png.c4a5c5a11ca85a5dca38bf57c2d1a2bf.png
when i try to apply mmc to both cylinders, i have no issues putting mmc on the feature

but when i add mmc to Datum A, even though i already have a diameter characteristic, it says that the evaluation method doesn't work, and asks me to either adapt the characteristic, or make another. adapting the previous diameter characteristic seems to work, but it also changes the actual, which confused me so i instead tried creating a new characteristic.Screenshot2024-12-16135223.png.f63caee169c5afe542405b45d37b2944.pngScreenshot2024-12-16140400.png.3a705fe90c6704f6151481db273fae61.png

this is the part that confuses me the most, when i create a diameter characteristic from the "MMC/LMC Calculation" menu, it is 2 tenths smaller than the other diameter characteristic, even though i can find nothing different between the 2. (The one named "Diameter- A" is the one i made my first creating a diameter characteristic and clicking in Datum A)

when i go into the feature tab and open Datum A to read what its diameter is, it matches the characteristic i made, (as in, the diameter reads 0.9079, 2 tenths bigger than what the diameter made by the mmc menu says)

i would not be surprised if this is just something i messed up on, i am just very confused about how these 2 diameter characteristics look the exact same to me yet read 2 different actuals. if anyone knows what i am doing wrong please let me know i would very much appreciate it. and let me know if i can give any more info to help, thank you.

Right click in the white field where the Datum A feature is and select evaluation. Then select

Maximum Inscribed Element if it's an ID or Minimum circumscribed Element if it's an OD.

When choosing "Create a new characteristic", always check your nominal and tolerances. Default characteristics will have default tolerance and that may violate your actual tolerance.
