Updating calypso messed up file open path

Newly upgraded from 2022 to 2024 and the default open file paths are a bit wonky.

Our cmm programs are located on a a directory that looks like this:     //server/part data/<part number>/cmm programs/<program>

The environment default path of measurements is set to the default C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO 7.8\workarea\inspections, and the Actual Values is set to "always in same directory".  Opening a file always starts back in that default folder, even after closing a program.

I would like the default File->Open to open the //server/part data/ folder since that's just how things are organized.  I can set the default path to that and calypso will start the search there for a program, but if I do, Calypso will error out and wont run anything because that specific folder is write protected (despite the fact that Calypso doesnt actually write anything in there since the actuals are set to "always in same directory") and the workstations are only granted read/write permissions to the /cmm programs/ subfolder.

 

So the workaround simple solution is to leave the default paths to the default, and put a shortcut in there.

 

But our version 2022 did not have this problem.  The default paths are set to default (i.e. C:\Users\Public...), but on first calypso File->Open always started at //server/part data/, and on following openings it starts where the last opened program was.

So where is the setting to fix this?

You can save actuals to a folder that has read write instead of the same directory and this will not happen.

Unless I specify "always in same directory", it cant seem to locate any existing saved measurement data (from File->Load Measured Points), the .zmps that are saved in the individual program folders:   <program>/idmeaspoints/.

I just need the default File->Open path to be something other than the environment's default path for measurement plans, and I know it is possible since our 2022 was set up this way.
