[Pa...]
Hi people, I need help from you. I want to create a surface with surface points, since the option to create a surface with CAD patches includes areas of the piece that I don´t want to evaluate. I think I´ve read somewhere that it can be done, but I can't find it. Does anyone know how to do it? Thanks a lot
[Je...]
Hello Patxi, your could create a fitting-plane from those points (select all points, rightclick, select all point from element) and use this for evaluation. If thats not the goal, please add information what type of inspection you are looking for. Best regards, Jens Braun
[Ti...]
The above suggestion is an excellent method. If the surface is not planar you can use a tool in any CAD program that basically does outlining/engraving to target particular areas of interest. It basically allows you to click a particular area on a surface without selecting a complete area. Another method for a quick fix is to select the entire curved surface and once you have applied a fitting strategy, then you edit the green actual feature and box away the areas you don't want with the select thru tool. [Ax...]
If your selectet patch on CAD is bigger than you need: You can deselect the unneed area of the fitting-element. Select the fitting element, click F4 and deselect.
