Curve measure before and after the first point

Hello,

 

I measure this curve like the picture in attachments. I would like to start the measure before the first point and to finish after the last point to have good points in this acceleration and probing stop zone.

Is the function "pre/post travel during measuring" the right option?

yes, this and also : you can change your strategy from scan path to single points and copy a section at start and paste it to the end and vice versa to extend the scan path. This is recommeneded. It is also recommended to not start on a curved are , rather a flat portion if possible.

I would not recommend that settings - i would rather mask manually. By enabling that you won't be able to get those points in any way.

And using that circled button will only "close" or "open" curve's spline -> used for evaluation of deviations - helpfull with using gauss method. For opened curves is recommended another method ( look into evaluation / filter )
