VAST XT (Gold) Head shaking when taking measurement

Hello,

Using a Calypso 7/7/6 with a VAST XT Gold head. When taking measurement the whole probe shakes/vibrates uncontrobally. I thought the issue is with the VAST XT head and replaced it with a new one and same issue. I have the video but the size is too big to upload. The standard deviation on the probe qualification was also really bad.

Not sure if anybody has had this issue. Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Request a service ticket.  Your sensor needs repair/replacement.  this is typically accompanied by a "taration error".

Jeff is correct, this is most likely a CMM Hardware issue, but in the interim you should also check that all connections of your stylus system are tight, and not damaged, and that the top of the probe plate is clean and undamaged. If there are any loose connections or damaged components, when the cmm tries to settle it may not be able to find a stable value and continuously try to adjust, causing that vibration. I can see that the vertical component is a much older style, and may be worn out. Additionally, try reducing your scanning speed on the feature in question.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I did place a service call and now waiting for some one out and replace what ever is broken. Will send a picture of the replacement part soon.

Looks like it was a internal firmware issue and no parts needed to be replaced. Interesting.
